• Jagit Singh, a legendary Ghazal singer from India, recently visited Toronto (Canada) and performed at the prestigious Roy Thompson Hall on Easter Sunday, 2009. He performed to a packed, spellbound audience. Mr. Singh also endorsed IP Dosti and, according to him, the 'Dosti' platform should have been there from the very first day, as both India and Pakistan have a lot in common. He further said that perhaps no one at that time could foresee that we would drift so far apart. He praised the team of IP Dosti and gave them a big thumbs up.
• Asian Connections: Rambir Chauhan, CEO of Asian Connections, launched his new album, 'First Love', on April 25, 2009. Asian Connection Media Group is a strong supporter of IP Dosti and our media partners.
• Fund Raiser: Taliban unrest in the valley of Swat (Pakistan) has left thousands of people homeless, as they had to leave their homes and are living in refugee camps. Canadian Print and Radio media recently decided to have a fund raiser for this much needed cause, so on the May 28, 2009 Sunshine Radio/ Cina Radio dedicated a two and a half hour segment and raised funds. IP Dosti supports the cause, and was there to extend all its support. We all pray and hope that things get back to normal as soon as possible. Thanks to Mr. Neeti Prakash Ray, President Cina 1650, for the extended air time. Once again we would like to thank all our listeners for all the support.

  IP Dosti had its annual dinner on the 3rd of August, 2009 in Mississauga. The venue was the International Banquet Hall. It was a fun-filled musical evening attended by the elite. The main speakers of the evening were Dr.Bikram Lamba, Gurbax Singh Malhi MP, Dr. Ruby Dhallha MP, Mr.Arif Skeikh, Mr. Mahmood Akhter. All speakers emphasized the importance of IP Dosti and how only through "Dosti" can we accomplish a lot. Moin Jamal of Band Baja Radio played a perfect host. The main singers of the evening were Albert Kamran, Sanjay Lall and Geeta Sharma who performed with live music. A lucky draw session was held and a lot of prizes were won. Followed by dinner.

• Iftar dinner, September 11, 2009: IP Dosti, an organization  for friendship between Indian and Pakistani people, organized an Iftar dinner. The dinner was well attended by the elite of the south Asian and main stream Canadian elite. Ruby Dhalla, Member of Parliament from  Brampton Springdale, was the chief guest. Among other attendees were Mr.  Vick Dhillon (Brampton), City councillor, Mr. John Sanderson, councillor(Brampton).  The feature of the night was celebration of the holy month of Ramadan. It was attended by well over 40 families who  gathered together under the IP Dosti banner and represented different  faiths.  A strong message was sent out that even though one belongs to a different country or religion, still we are the same.  Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dhalla praised the efforts of the  organization for trying to build a bridge between the two communities.  Vicky Dhillon and Mr. Sanderson, speaking on the occasion, praised the Muslim community for their hard work in shaping the economy of Canada, and also praised the organization for holding such an event.  All  speakers emphasized that more such functions should be organized so  that people belonging to different faiths/cultures  could learn about  each other and thus have a better understanding about each other’s  faiths and customs.
